Its been awhile since the last time I really participated in this community. Gosh alot has changed. Much different to the fledging creative community I stumbled across 6 years ago.
So where have I been all this time? I'm took a tangent course and been roaming the design wilderness looking for my own creative niche in the world. But alas after four years I don't think I got anywhere. But thats not to say I didn't learn a lot during that time. With another chapter of my life rapidly drawing to an end. I really want to get back to my roots, and be inspire by the thousands of creative minds on here. I shut myself away from this creative world only to embrace the industrial design world half heartily. But times a changing and I think its time to share what I learn and give back to community. Hopefully help people stay away from the mistakes I made.
So back to being creative....
This maybe probably be my last industrial design project (or maybe not) but currently I've been working on a year long design research project for my thesis. Working on conjunction with the Association for the Blind of W.A. I've been looking at personal possessions and how we relate our identity to them (think of what you carry around with you). I'm trying to design a personal organizer (think Filofax) but for all the things we carry, but its not just an ordinary bag or container but something where it makes accomplishing tasks easier such as using public transportation or paying for the groceries for the visually impaired.
It has been such an up and down project which has rekindled some of my passion for design and being creative but being in an institution that is so unorganized really drains the morale and soul. So lets see what happens. I'll be posting my concepts and drawings over the coming weeks and photos of my prototyping process. If anyone stumbles onto this and is interested in contributing anything from ideas, experiences or thoughts it be greatly appreciated.
Have a look at [link] its really interesting to explore the world of other people's bags and pockets. It reveals so much about ourselves.
